Confirmation 2018

Confirmation begins on February 4 for those in 7th and 8th Grades.

Our journey as Christians begins in Holy Baptism. When we are baptized, we are adopted into a new family: the family of God. None of us becomes a faith-filled Christian on our own. We need the whole community, each member witnessing to us, in order to grow in Christ.

Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20a). We believe Jesus commands us to baptize our children and raise them in the Christian faith. During the baptism service, parents agree to “nurture this child in Christ’s holy Church, that by your teaching and example they may be guided to accept God’s grace for themselves, to profess their faith openly, and to lead a Christian life.”

Confirmation is the time when these young people will profess their faith. It is a time when they own the vows spoken on their behalf at their baptism. Our Confirmation Class of 2018 includes all 7th and 8th graders who will commit to attending all of the events (February - May) that will prepare them for this profession of faith. (If you are not yet baptized, you may still participate in Confirmation.)

Important Dates:
February 4th 12noon Confirmation Kickoff Lunch (Parents/Guardians are invited to attend)
February 14 - Ash Wednesday Worship
April 27-29 - Confirmation Retreat
May 20 - Confirmation Celebration in Worship

The confirmation class will meet most Sunday afternoons from 6pm until 7:30pm at the church.
